Hi, my name is Rachel Wermager and I am a Drake University graduate with degrees in journalism and English. While at Drake I was involved in numerous on-campus publications and learned a great deal from both my professors and my peers.
My internship experience includes working as the Copy Flow Coordinator at Meredith corporation and as the Communications Intern for the AARP of Iowa. Currently I am working as an Editorial Associate for Meredith Xcelerated Marketing (MXM).
I am highly interested in writing or editing as a career; my goal with my writing is to tell the stories of those that would otherwise be left untold. What I bring to the table is great people skills—I am slightly introverted but that does not stop me from working well with others. I am very good at making tough decisions and I often become passionate about my work, along with those I work with and work for.
I like the idea of writing something that makes a difference, albeit large or small, in the lives of others. I find I am driven by the things I care about most and have always had the desire to make an impact with the life I’ve been given; I want to leave my mark on those I encounter throughout life.
Something important to me and the way I live my life is that I look back with no regrets. My favorite quote says just that: “When you look back on life you will only regret the things you didn’t do, not the things you did.”
